I can't believe it's taken me 2 weeks to get this post up, but we went to Disney World at the beginning of March! We spent four days at the parks, starting with Magic Kingdom, then Animal Kingdom, Epcot, and back to Magic Kingdom to end our week. For the first time, we stayed in a Marriott Vacation Club (condo) and it was wonderful!

Mike's mom joined us for our first day, so it was nice to have an extra set of hands with the boys. Nolan's pretty good about staying close to us when he's out of the stroller, but the parks get so crowded I could see how easily a child could get lost. Just in case, we put a sticker with our phone numbers on Nolan's back everyday.
I don't think Grant got much out of the trip, but Nolan was so excited he could hardly contain it! Everything was magical to him. He 100% believed the characters were real. There's nothing better than witnessing that! Whenever we waited in a line to meet a character he would get so excited he'd do a little dance. Then, when it was his turn to meet them he would get very nervous and serious. It was so cute! The way he waved to them in the parades was like he thought they were doing it all for him!

Here are some pictures from our first day at the Magic Kingdom. The day was pretty cold and gloomy, but we still had a great time! Nolan didn't even take a nap and we stayed all day so we could see the light parade (of which Mike failed to get any pictures). Nolan's first ride ever was the Toy Story one- loved it!

Day two was spent at Animal Kingdom. The temperature warmed up and the sun came out to make a beautiful day! Our favorite things to do at this park were the Safari and the Festival of the Lion King show. I also enjoyed the parade here even more than the one at the Magic Kingdom.

On our third day we went to Epcot. This was the only morning we actually made it to the park just as it was opening (although it was our plan on the other days as well). We walked in and got in a very short line to meet Mickey, Minnie, Donald Duck, Goofy and Pluto! Usually these lines are 30+ minutes long to meet one character, and we waited about 10 minutes to meet all of them, so it was a great start to our day! However, after that we wandered into the Captain EO 3D movie- big mistake!! I couldn't believe they had anything so scary at Disney and none of the staffers warned us when they saw us walking in with the kids. Ugh. When we got out of the movie, Nolan said it was scary, Mike and I agreed with him and changed the subject and he's never brought it up again- phew! We spent the first part of the day going to the kid friendly attractions, then the boys took a long nap in the stroller while Mike and I walked around the countries and checked out the garden festival that was taking place.

The last day, we went back to the Magic Kingdom, but before that we went to our character breakfast at the Polynesian hotel with Mickey, Pluto, Lilo, and Stitch. Once Nolan realized the characters were there, he was so excited he couldn't eat...anyone who has ever witnessed how much Nolan loves to eat knows that this is a BIG deal. The breakfast was definitely one of the best moments of the trip! After breakfast it was pouring rain outside, but after some debate we bought some ponchos and headed on over to the park even though there were supposed to be more storms on the way. Luckily, the rain subsided shortly after we got there, the other storms never came, AND there were almost no lines for any of the rides! It turned out to be a fun last day, but boy were we exhausted by the time it was over! We can't wait to go again when Grant can enjoy it too!
