Superhero Halloween!
Halloween is here! We carved our pumpkins a couple days ago- Nolan wanted his to be spooky, and Grant wanted his to be happy ("because I'm happy!" he said). It's been a couple years since we trick-or-treated in our own neighborhood, so we decided to stay close to home again. There's a fall festival with catered dinner, face painting, a magician and more before everyone heads off to trick-or-treat. Our boys were incredibly wound up and excited, so they literally spent almost the whole time rolling around the lawn wrestling. Oh well, they had a great time! After that, Grant didn't have much energy left for trick-or-treating, but Nolan could have gone all night!

Fall in Ohio
Earlier this month we spent a week in Ohio visiting our families. Our first stop was at my parents' house. They're having renovations done throughout the house, so we did our best to keep the boys entertained elsewhere. Lucky for us there were lots of fall festivals going on! The first day, after fueling up on some donuts, we headed to Lake Farmpark. Afterwards, we built a fire and attempted to make s'mores before we got rained on. (I didn't bring my camera on the trip, so stole most of these pictures from my parents and in-laws.)
The next day, we went to a festival put on by Hiram House.
The following day we went in to Coventry for lunch at our favorite restaurant, Tommy's, and then headed to the Cleveland Museum of Natural History.
My mom had to work the next day, so we brought the boys to see her school and meet her students, and then went to Patterson's Fruit Farm to get some apples and pumpkins.
Our final day was spent at the house, playing on the roller coaster and taking rides on the tractor. We had a wonderful visit with my parents!
After our time in Cleveland, we went to Mike's brothers' house for a night. The boys were beyond excited to play with their cousins and meet the newest addition, Bennett.
Our final destination was Mike's dad's house for a few days. A very pregnant Ann, Felix, and Isaiah stayed there with us, as well as Liz and her her kids, Jenna and Garrett. Brian, Emily, Brayden, Blake, and Bennett also came for one night, so needless to say it was a crazy house! The kids had so much fun playing with all of their cousins, exploring Grandma and Grandpa's huge yard (a scavenger hunt and obstacle course included), going to the bird sanctuary, and of course helping make pies!
Our flight back home ended up being delayed by a couple hours...here's a picture of Grant and Mike trying to keep busy at the airport (like father, like son)!
Baby #3 on the way!
We're almost to the end of October and once again I've failed at posting all month. However, I feel like I have a fairly good excuse since I'm 15 weeks pregnant! Needless to say, I've been exhausted and spent about 3+ weeks feeling very sick. Now that second trimester has hit, I'm feeling much better and we're all very excited about the baby! We shared the news with the boys after our first ultrasound at 9 weeks. Nolan is full of questions this time around and they debate every day over whether it will be a boy or girl (I think boy, Mike thinks girl). Here's the little gummy bear at 9 weeks:
And here s/he is at 12 weeks, during my NT scan (all test results came back good).

Oops!
Looks like I forgot to make a post the whole month of September. Oh well, at least I have some pictures from my phone to remind me what we did. We started out the month with my birthday and spent the day at the Georgia Aquarium. We had not been in quite a while, and the boys loved the new dolphin show!
We went to the North Georgia State Fair for the first time. The boys had a blast on the rides and playing games!
The day after the fair, we went to a birthday party and shortly after we got home Grant started coughing. We put him down for a nap, but he hardly slept because he was wheezing so bad and having a hard time breathing. So, it was off to urgent care again for the poor little guy. He got a breathing treatment and some meds and was better in a few days, thank goodness!
I got to help out at the boys' school for Art in the Park day. There were about 10 stations with different art projects that the kids got to do. It was fun to watch them with their teachers and classmates!
Finally, last weekend we went up to the mountains with some friends to go apple picking at Mercier Orchards. It's the same place we went last year, and although it's pretty far away it's well worth it for the amazing apples! Afterwards, we had lunch in Blue Ridge, let the kids play, and watched the train.
