Uncle Jason Celebration

Today is the 5 year anniversary of Jason's death. Mike got the boys out of the house for a couple hours yesterday so that I could have some alone time to reminisce. It was very helpful and made today easier to deal with. Rather than having my little guys see me sad and grieving today, I decided to have our first "Uncle Jason Celebration". We listened to some of his favorite music and got special cupcakes. I can't always be happy missing my brother, but after 5 years of being sad about it, I'd like to try harder to remember all of the positive memories I have of him. So here's to you Jase- we miss you terribly, but know you're here with us in another way! Oh, and a couple weeks ago while I was cleaning Nolan's room and moved his picture of Jason, he said to me, "Mommy, Uncle Jason is SO happy!"  :) :) :)

11 Months Old

Oh wow- Grant is 11 months old already!! How did that happen? He's so much more of a daredevil than Nolan was! The other day he took 3 steps on his own (from the side of the ottoman to the couch), but that's the closest he's come to walking so far. He can stand on his own for close to a minute now, so his balance is definitely improving. He loves teasing Mike and me- making a dash for the dog bowl or toilet or something else he's not supposed to have, then when we say "no" he stops, smiles at us, goes again, and repeats the game. Most of the time, he's really not interested in whatever it is he's going for, he just loves the attention he gets from doing it. I suppose when you're competing with your 2 year old brother, that's the best way for guaranteed attention!

President's Day

We had a great visit with my parents this weekend, full of lots of outside playtime and a trip to the Georgia Aquarium. Like usual, the weekend went too fast and we miss them already!

Hi Uncle Dan!

My brother called the other day while we were headed to the playground. Here's a video of Nolan having a conversation with him (your guess is as good as mine as far as what he's talking about)!

Dinnertime

Sometimes dinner can be a nightmare (especially when Mike's not here to help). Tonight was not one of those times :)

Happy Valentine's Day!

Another holiday, and another attempted photo shoot of the boys. I'm learning this is NOT my calling!! I thought getting a picture of the two of them was rough at Christmas, but now that Grant's crawling it's just impossible. Sigh. Anyway, we had a nice family Valentine's Day. Mike worked from home so he could be with us, and the boys showered me with chocolate, caffeine (yummy chai tea), and a new Coach purse...I'm a lucky wife/Mommy!!
