Grant is 2!!!

Happy birthday to our baby boy (a week ago)! It's so hard to believe Grant is 2 years old already. He's certainly not a baby anymore! Every day he tries to do more and more "big boy stuff" like his brother. He's happiest when he's doing everything that Nolan is. A few times when Nolan's been in school, I've let Grant ride in Nolan's car seat and he seriously thinks it's the best thing ever! His vocabulary continues to thrive and he's recently gotten very good at jumping. He also has some great dance moves (like his brother)!
I took him for his 2-year checkup on his actual birthday, but he was not very cooperative. That, plus a nurse-in-training, left me with the following stats, which I don't think are accurate: 30 lbs. (74%), 38.5 in. (99%), head circumference 47 cm (12%). The doctor also prescribed a stronger steroid for his eczema. So far it's working great...fingers crossed it stays away when we stop using it.

And here's a little birthday jig...

Grandpa and Grandma's Visit

Mike's dad and stepmom came to visit for a long weekend, starting on St. Patrick's Day. The weather was wonderful the whole time they were here (aside from record levels of pollen), so we spent lots of time outside. The first day, after Nolan's soccer game, we went to the playground and for a walk by the duck pond to see the "chicken-ducks" as my boys call them.
The next day we went to the Atlanta Botanical Gardens and enjoyed the early spring flowers and some free ice cream.
Our last outing was to the zoo, where the animals were pretty active again! I didn't bring my camera that day, but got one on my phone of the boys and grandparents on their favorite part- the train.
And finally, because Grandma made delicious pies 3 out of the 4 nights they were here, we still had some energy to burn off before their visit was over!

March

Where, oh where does the time go? I can't believe it's mid-March already and my baby will be turning 2 years old next week! We recently visited the Fernbank Museum of Natural History. They had a wildlife exhibit going on, so the boys enjoyed seeing all the reptiles and spiders. Of course, the dinosaurs were a big hit also!
Last weekend we went to the zoo, and after a year off, we decided to get a membership again. We got to see the elephants eating, the tigers playing with each other and trying to chase birds, and an adorable baby ape among other things. We can't wait to go again soon!
