Airshow

We got to go to the Atlanta Airshow with friends this past weekend. I think it definitely ranked up there in Nolan's top 5 days of his life! He was totally in awe of the airplanes. I was amazed that both of the boys actually kept their earplugs in- a testament to how excited and distracted they were! We had gorgeous weather and well-behaved kids...couldn't ask for more!

Ellijay

We took a drive up north to Ellijay to get some apples and pumpkins! Our first stop was Hillcrest Orchards where we had a nice picnic lunch and Nolan got to play on tractors and pet lots of animals in the petting zoo. We bought a ton of apples in hopes of making some homeade apple sauce and apple pies...and of course we didn't leave without getting some of my favorites- apple fritters! After that, we went to Burt's Pumpkin Patch to pick out our pumpkins and go on a hay ride. It was a beautiful day and fun family time!

HHI

Since we didn't make it to the beach all summer this year, we decided to take a little family trip to Hilton Head last weekend. We stayed four nights, which was the perfect amount of time with the little guys. We got adjoining hotel rooms at the Westin, in hopes that once the kids went to bed Mike and I could stay up and hang out. It sort of worked! Nolan slept great in his own king sized bed, but Grant wasn't very happy in his "Heavenly" crib, so he slept with us most of the time. The weather was a little on the cooler side, but still warm enough for Mike and Nolan to brave the water. Nolan could not get enough of the sand and waves! Mike and I learned that "vacationing" with two babies is not very relaxing, but fun in a different way. There's nothing better than watching a 2-year old get excited about experiencing all of the things we grow to take for granted!!

6 Months Old

Happy 1/2 Birthday to Grant! Our sweet little baby is getting so big! Other than some middle of the night screaming fits, he really is so sweet. He's rolling all over the floor now, and even scoots sometimes to get what he wants. I'll be amazed if he doesn't start crawling before Nolan did. Grant can also sit on his own for a good few minutes before tumbling over. Along with cereal, he's been enjoying his orange veggies (squash, sweet potatoes, and carrots), but really seems to want to eat whatever it is I'm eating.
Here are his 6 month stats: 16 lbs. 9 oz. (25-50th %ile), 26.6 in (50-75th %ile), 44 cm head (50th %ile).

Grandma's Visit

Mike's mom came for a quick visit last weekend. She was only here one full day, but we kept her busy! We took her to the playground, the pool, and a local festival. I think Nolan's favorite part of the visit was dancing with his Grandma right in front of the stage at the festival...it's too bad we didn't have a camera to capture it!

Family Day

Mike went to visit his mom for her birthday this weekend (and go to the Browns game), so he took Monday off to spend some time with me and the boys. It was a beautiful day, so we decided to go to the zoo. Nolan had a blast riding the train and merry-go-round, and Grant was happy as can be in the stroller! Grant's 2nd bottom tooth also popped up today. And I've uploaded a video of Nolan singing his ABC's!

30's Here I Come!

Well, I have officially entered my 30's, and so far it's been wonderful! My parents arrived last Thursday for the long weekend, and then on Friday (my birthday) Dan and Carly made a surprise appearance. I was so excited to see them! Saturday was my birthday party, filled with great friends, family, and lots of yummy food. Sunday we had a family tournament of cornhole, ladderball, and kan-jam. Mike and I got 1st place!! I can't even explain how much it meant to me to have my family here this weekend, but thank you guys for coming! I love you!

Also noteworthy in the past week, Grant has cut his first tooth! He's about 2 months younger than Nolan was when he cut his first, so I was a little surprised to see it. His adorable gummy smile won't be gummy much longer!
