Grant Daniel has arrived! On Monday, March 22, I went to see my doctor for my weekly checkup. When he did my exam he said the baby was very, very low and I was 5 cm dilated. He recommended that I go straight to the hospital to have my water broken, in order to avoid a mad rush later. So, I headed to the hospital and called Mike to meet me there. By the time he got Nolan to our friends' house and got to the hospital, I was getting my epidural and some pitocin to start contractions. The doctor broke my water around 1pm, and then we waited for things to get going. At 5pm, the doctor came to check my progress, and Grant's head was right there! I pushed through 2 contractions (less than 5 minutes), and he was born at 5:24, weighing in at 8lbs. 1oz, and 20.75 inches. We feel so blessed to have had not one, but two very easy labor and delivery experiences resulting in perfect, healthy, beautiful little boys!
While we were in the hospital with Grant, our friends Nicole and Clint took great care of Nolan. He had so much fun with them and their son Walker, and we are extremely thankful for their help!! Nolan met Grant yesterday, and he seems to like him so far. He's trying to give him lots of hugs, and enjoys pointing out his eyes, hair, and nose. It's clearly a little difficult for him at times when he doesn't have all of our attention like he used to, but that's to be expected. Now our goal is to get into some sort of routine before Mike has to start traveling again!
